I have left off the upbeat. The form is ABBA. It might be a song-tune rather than a dance tune, and it’s so timeless and natural-sounding that it could have been used in many contexts.

Re: Name this tune?

Thanks for delving into this, Stiamh. That’s a song in the same ABBA form. But it’s not the one. I’ve tried playing it into TunePal about 6 times, each time getting a different (wrong) result! It seems like a very familiar tune to me, so I thought it must be well-known and ubiquitous. And it’s quite a simple tune, too, though elegant and fetchingly modal.

Re: Name this tune?

The tune is in "ABBA form"….. A Ha….. :-)

Re: Name this tune?

Oh jeez, is that like Dancing Queen or something?

Re: Name this tune?

"Knowing me, knowing you.." ;-)

Mama Mia! here we go again …………….

Re: Name this tune?

I love it when the punters say "Thank you for the music" after a good session.
