Who wrote this tune?

Re: Who wrote this tune?

Sweet Rain?
I think it might be trad. breton. If memory serves, Brian Finnegan lifted a lot of tunes from that album from early Kornog and Jean Michel Veillon. (I think this whole set is lifted from an album) I might be sending you on a wild goose chase but there’s a good chance it’s on the Kornog albums, which might help you track down its antecedents.

It’s not on the JM Veillon solo albums - that I do know, because I listened to them recently.

Damn good tune.

Re: Who wrote this tune?

I thought it might be called Ton Ar Bonomig (on the Kornog album ‘Kornog’ which i don’t have but have heard.) Brian Finnegan is pretty lax in remembering tune names.

Re: Who wrote this tune?

Yea he calls the set Sweet Rain.

The tunes are named wrong the first one is ‘Son Ar Rost’ so the 2nd must be Sweet Rain but there’s no mention on the cd if its trad, Breton trad or a new tune.

Re: Who wrote this tune?

Brian Finnegan taught Sweet Rain at Boxwood 2013 or 2014. If I remember correctly, I think he credited it to Jacky Molard.
