Corriechoilles

Corriechoilles

Does anyone have the music for this. I can’t find it on the site.

Re: Corriechoilles

Assuming you mean the pipe tune Corriechoillies Welcome to the Northern Meeting, it is on John Chambers’ Tunefinder at

http://rudy-rucker.mit.edu/~jc/cgi/abc/tunefind and enter the tune name.

If you are not sure of the spelling then the first 5 or 6 letters will normally give a small enough number of hits to be able to find a suitable setting.

Setting no 20 for Corriechoillie looks good to me.

John’s site includes The Session in its coverage so it is a good place to try first if you think the tune might be Scottish - as in this case.

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get on

Re: Corriechoilles

BTW the title is Corriechoillie’s 43rd Welcome to the Northern Meeting.

It was composed by Pipe Major W Ross MBE, Scots Guards.

The version Nigel linked to appears identical to the way the tune appears in pipe collections.

Re: Corriechoilles

I always think of that tune as being part of this long medley, on one of the first piping albums I got, back in 1972

I love the drumming on this album. All my drummer friends say the drumming is sh!te (at least by modern pipe band standards).
