Note value is halved when printing polkas??!

Note value is halved when printing polkas??!

Hi all,

I am wondering whether anyone else is experiencing this odd phenomena when printing polkas…When I do so, the note value is halved.. e.g the quavers become semiquavers and the semiquavers become demisemiquavers..

Doesn’t happen when printing other types of tunes e.g. jigs, reels etc.

If anyone does have this problem, can it me remedied?

Thanks!
Sabrina

If you are printing from an abc file it might happen if the "note length" is not defined in the header.
The polkas on this site use the same note length value as all other tune types. It’s defined in the header, i.e. L:1/8 If the L: field (note length) is not specified it will default depending on the meter (time signature). Which would reduce polka (2/4) by half; i.e. L:1/16

Not using ABC though…hmmm….

Had same problem with my version of The Water is Wide: it looked all fine and dandy with correct note lengths for the specified 4/4, but then changed itself overnight into note lengths for 2/4, even though the time sig was shown as 4/4. I had been using Easy ABC.
