What’s this tune played by Dallahan?

Re: What’s this tune played by Dallahan?

It’s also on a Solas CD. Maybe the first one

Not sure if this helps but…

"Scottish song meets Irish dance as Logan Braes, adapted to Jack’s own melody, is peppered with bursts of a Meare Breathneach reel. Logan Braes is a typically wistful Borders song, but these guys are wasting no time in getting down to it and in the hands of Dallahan it’s a punchy, string filled delight."

A version of Michael Kennedy’s it is!
The Máire Breathnach tune is different, though similar.

Re: What’s this tune played by Dallahan?

There are two tunes in the clip - the Máire Breathnach tune (i.e. Branohm #1) is played as an intro, and between verses. Michael Kennedy’s is also part of the song, but after 3 minutes.

What about the tune starting at 5:03?

Re: What’s this tune played by Dallahan?

You’re right Jeff, those are the 2 different tunes played.

And Creadur, that sounds like the tune "Mayhem", composed by Rite Toole.
