Identify tune (Galician?)

Identify tune (Galician?)

Hi all! Here’s a tune I just got from a friend.
I can’t identify it, but it sounds a bit like a Galician muiñeira.
Anybody here who can identify it?

Might also be played in D:

Re: Identify tune (Galician?)

I would have to see music in ordinary staff notation, I can’t read ABC fluently enough. There are hundreds of Munieras! Maybe thousands. Or better than any notation if you have a link to somebody playing the tune.

What key depends on what instrument it’s played on, on the traditional Gaita Galega in the key of C Major then obviously most of the Munieras sound in C Major.

Nowadays higher-pitched Gaitas in D and lower-pitched Gaitas in Bb are also popular. I don’t know about Gaitas in A, but they probably exist (they would be a bit bigger than the Gaita de Banda in Bb).

Re: Identify tune (Galician?)

It certainly sounds Galician, though I notice it does fit into the GHB scale.

As Richard says, a lot of these tunes are nameless.
