Re: The Click Reel

The only click reel I have ever heard of us used for fly fishing. Do you have a link to the the tune.

Re: The Click Reel

I’ve never heard of the Click Reel (other than a fly fishing implement). The only tunes I see around are Click Go The Shears (there’s apparently a Hornpipie in D, and a reel in G with that name), and Clicking Chickens (a reel in D). Do you have a teacher that suggested this tune? Or is it something that you’ve heard, and are looking for sheet music? (To which many people, including myself, might mention that learning a tune by ear, even if it’s hard, can be a real good thing for your playing).

Or possibly you could describe the bowing technique that you’re looking to work on, and people could suggest other tunes where it would be appropriate.

Re: The Click Reel

Gobby, if you are familiar with "Trout Fishing in America", you’ll know that a Zipper Reel will often work better than a Click Reel. :)

Re: The Click Reel

I’ve never heard of one postie, but I imagine that you would use a zipper with a fly?
