Kevin Crawford & friends: In Good Company

Re: Looking for suggestions: Flute/fiddle duet albums

This is flute & fiddle with piano https://thesession.org/recordings/1069 Peg McGrath, Kathleen Smyth, Mary Mulholland.

Flute and fiddle are on different stereo channels, which I find good for ‘studying’ the interplay.

Re: Looking for suggestions: Flute/fiddle duet albums

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Some of these I already have on my collection and will give a second listen to see if I’ve missed anything, others will get around to finding it. This should keep me busy for a while!

I’m enjoying the Rawbar Collective so far! Also another shout out to the recent Mike McGoldrick & Dezi Donnelly album.

Cheers,

Melany

Peter Horan & Fred Finn: Music Of Sligo is essential but not at all easy to find.

Others I’d recommend:
Seamus Tansey & Jim McKillop: To Hell With The Begrudgers
Séamus Cooley & John McGreevy: McGreevy & Cooley (some duets, some solo tracks)
Julia & Billy Clifford: Ceol as Sliabh Luachra

"Irish Traditional Fiddling" and "At His Best" by Seán Maguire and Roger Sherlock.
An Historic Recording of Irish Traditional Music by Paddy Canny, P.J. Hays, Péadar O’Loughlin and Bridie Lafferty - if two fiddles and a flute is acceptable; some tracks are only the fiddles.
Now She’s Purring by Gerry Harrington and Billy Clifford

Memories of Sligo by Tommy Healy and John Duffy
The Thing Itself by Maeve Donnelly and Peter O’Loughlin

Harry also recorded with fiddle player Jesse Smith as "The Tap Room Trio", with John Blake accompanying.
Also just remembered a superb recording from Australia, "Undertones" by Ado Barker and Ben Stephenson.
"Happy To Meet" - P.J. Crotty and James Cullinan, with Carol Cullinan on piano.
