It was a bit chaotic, switching between seemingly unrelated styles of Classical, then marching band, and what we’d recognize as trad. But Fintan Vallely (who has a brief appearance) makes the point in his flute tutor that there is a link in the history of the trad “Irish flute” to the fife tradition of marching bands in Northern Island. So it was good to see some examples of that. Well worth watching, even if you skip through the flute orchestra bits.
