Charlie Lennon piano accompaniment credits.

Charlie Lennon piano accompaniment credits.

I’ve become very interested in his accompaniment style. I’ve tried to find him using the ALLMUSIC website but it was not useful. Most of my trad audio is digital so liner notes are scarce. I’m looking for more recordings with him on piano. I know he plays on Maurice ‘s albums and he plays on Antoin Mac Gabhann’s Tunesmith. If you know of some other suggestions or know of a good source for trad recording credit please let know.

Johnny Connolly and Charlie make the best pair. It’s perfect accompaniment to the melodeon

Re: Charlie Lennon piano accompaniment credits.

I have always thought he was the single best accompanist of his own tunes. He composes melody in a very harmony-conscious way and, naturally, when he is his own accompanist, he is able to bring out all the harmonic nuances of his tunes. It’s a shame he can’t play piano and fiddle simultaneously in a live setting.
