Trip to Lahinch

Trip to Lahinch

Planning to be in Lahinch for a few weeks. I tried to add this as a trip, but I’m not sure it "took" I couldn’t find it. I’ll be there from 7/18 til 8/4. Looking for sessions/festivals that might welcome a modestly advanced flute player, and a hundred mile trip, maybe more, isn’t out of the question. I always enjoy good company and good tunes. and playing with my "betters" is always a good time! PM me with suggestions.

Also, I’d like to know of any good flute instructors who would schedule a couple of hours to help work out some fine points of technique and performance. I’ve been at this for 15 years now but still find room for more. I can provide emails of a couple of tunes as a starter.

Thanks, anybody fancy a tune?

Ross

Re: Trip to Lahinch

Brid O’Gorman ( great flute player is in that area) I believe she teaches, lots of videos of her on you tube.

If you scroll through these videos you’ll find some of her playing at various pub sessions in Clare, you could take note of names of the pubs in these videos and visit them in Ennystimon, Inagh, etc., Cruises is in Ennis and I’m sure there are sessions in Lahinch

Re: Trip to Lahinch

I was in Lahinch last August. Some great players and sessions even within the city limits. I went on weekdays but I’m sure you could find something that would fit your schedule.

Re: Trip to Lahinch

The Cornerstone in the main street, Lahinch, Thursday and Sunday nights from 9:45pm. Lovely welcoming session with top players…

100 miles is half way across the country, there are many sessions every night within 25 minutes.
