Selling a grinter flute
Hi, I am thinking of selling my flute in the near future. It is a grinter 8 key flute which I bought a few years ago. What are they worth these days?

Suggest you check out a specialist website like ‘wooden flute.com’
I’d guess in good condition it is probably worth the best part of 1k, because a new 2 keyed wooden flute by a good maker is now in the region of £700. My Sam Murray (of Galway city) flute was about this amount, (though I had to take him to court to get him to make me it after paying him the money & getting no flute from him !) I’d be interested in seeing your Grinter myself. stevefozard7@gmail.com
Have seen ones listed at around €5k … depends on tone/condition
Obviously a very valuable item to have now, seeing as they are no longer being made unfortunately
I would guess somewhere between €5-10k these days.
Not to be mean or anything, but I never understand posts like this. I mean if you own a Grinter flute you are more than a little interested in flutes. And you know what you payed for it and you know they are highly regarded and you know what happened to Mr. Grinter. I would put it out there for the price you are willing to sell it for and see if there’s any takers.
Yes, Ketil, I am also somewhat puzzled. And strange, same post from same poster four years ago, where @ennerbannerman posted what it was worth then. I suppose he is asking what the current market value may be.
Down here in Australia, I’d be very interested in this instrument. Are you serious about selling it @ennerbannerman? Let us know.
Chiff & Fipple Forum Used Instruments Exchange is a very good place to sell to a specifically targeted audience.
Definitely interested in selling. I had asked a few years ago as I had an interest from a potential purchaser but they decided not to continue with the purchase. I also have a four key Sam Murray which I am wishing to sell as I no longer play it. I plan to fix up both flutes and place them for sale. Possibly in September but after they have been looked over. I am also in the market for a left handed flute for someone who has asked me to find one for them.
I have a 3 key left handed in B for sale . Delrin http://www.vdmflutes.com/UK/Reperesuk.html
As to current value, you may care to look at this recent thread:

Thank you but I was looking for a left handed flute in D if there is anyone who can help me.
Good reference on flute prices in the eBay listing.
Hi, I am in Louth and am very interested in purchasing your Grinter flute. Is it still for sale?
