Triplets in ABC notation?

Triplets in ABC notation?

Hey everyone, so I just submitted my very first tune, John Brady’s https://thesession.org/tunes/18985 and I’m having some trouble with the ABC notation. In the fourth bar of the second half of the tune the current notation is |efge fafe| but I would like to put a slurred triplet in the first bar to read |ef(3gfe) fafe| … but when I try this it slurs the whole second half of the tune!! What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

Re: Triplets in ABC notation?

make the first bracket 2 brackets:

ef ((3gfe) fafe|

this fixed the issue when tested on http://www.clivew.com/abc.php

Re: Triplets in ABC notation?

Just to add to Jay’s comment - the code is a bit confusing. The symbol for a triplet is (3 so to add the triplet you have:

ef (3gfe fafe

Then to add the slur, you need ( and ) around the notes you want to slur:

ef ((3gfe) fafe
