This great performance by Keltoi has a great Battle of Waterloo and actually my favourite version of Sound of Sleat but what’s the vocal tune they sing at the beginning with just the drone? I can’t find it anywhere and would love to know what it’s called!

It’s a song called Dùthaich Mhicleòid, The Lands of MacLeod, the lament of a soldier serving in the Napoleonic wars in France. The lyrics are here:

Is the song theme very serious (I know only English)? The musicians look a bit sad and with those massed bookshelves behind, also serious. Oh goodee, tune’s lost drone and now is gorgeously cheerful. Good Night.
