Re: Sean Casey RIP

Very sorry to hear this. I would count Sean Casey as a major influence on my playing, his being among the first sessions I went to when finding my feet as a trad player in London. RIP.

Re: Sean Casey RIP

Very sad news indeed. He politely tolerated my playing on occasions some years back. A great player.

Re: Sean Casey RIP

I first met him around 1989 in The Stags Head in Camden.
I’ve not seem him for a few years. I still owe him a fiver. I’ll have a drink in his memory.

Re: Sean Casey RIP

Sad news.

He once tolerated my playing at a pub in Camden.

Re: Sean Casey RIP

Came across an old cassette yesterday with Sean Casey chatting and playing a few solo tunes on the banjo. "The Wind that Shakes the Barley" Bucks of Oranmore" and a few nice double jigs. The quality isn’t too bad . I will post again when I get it up on one of the platforms . Sean can also be heard playing at "sounds.bl.uk" which is a treasure house of unique recordings if you delve into it. Sad to hear of his passing , didn’t know if it was sudden or was he ill for a while ?
