pink ivory flute
I would love any information about how a pink ivory flute compares tone and volume wise with mopane… is there much difference in volume and brightness/sweetness of tone?

I hate to say this… some of you may want to look away now… but:

I tried a pink ivory Windward flute 2 years ago. If I had to describe it compared to my Grenadilla one is that it is “sassy” and bright. Then again, I don’t know how much of that is attributed to my playing style and the Pratten design. A friend now owns that flute and one thing he noted was it takes a while for it to warm up compared to mopane and Grenadilla before it gets to its optimal tone.
