Bb flute

Bb flute

I have some interest in buying a Bb flute. Anybody have a line on one for sale that’s not on the usual sites? Note: I am not comfortable with piper’s grip so reach is a question. For example the Carbony is out of my reach, the LeHart is not. Please PM me. I don’t want to use Jeremy’s real estate for this. Thanks

Re: Bb flute

Hammy Hamiltons ( I have one ) not for sale sorry.
EASY to fill well made, THE sound.
RH 2-RH3 is 42 mm ( That’s likely the biggest/hardest stretch )
Assuming you play right handed thats your low E and D tone holes.

I got mine second hand
Ask on Chiff and Fipple or the Irish Flute Market place ( Fb )
Good Luck

Re: Bb flute

Check with Norman Holmes over on Chiff & Nipple. He is part of Holmes-McNaughton flutes. They make a variety of keys-Bb is one of them. Gorgeous flutes. . ,never had the courage to explore cost.

Go and stand in the corner, autocorrect!

And no tittering…

Re: Bb flute

Would recommend Holmes McNaughton. I have one of their earlier keyed D flutes. Excellent, will last a lifetime and I will never need to upgrade.

Glad you got that off your chest (as it were)
…I’ll see myself out…

Re: Bb flute

I have have Bb flute from Doug Tipple flutes. Ergonomic finger holes. A stretch but quite playable and a nice sound. He uses a Farow wedge to reproduce the sound of an Irish flute.
Under $150 USD, it makes a great "starter/experiment" flute that I’ve been playing for 10 years.
