Please help me with name of tune. It’s not "Dougie’s Barn".

Please help me with name of tune. It’s not "Dougie’s Barn".

Hiya tune lovers,

This one has been bothering me for the last couple of days… It is a very well known tune which is probably here already and I will surely recognise the title straight away.

I first learned it from the sadly missed Angus Grant Junior but he couldn’t remember its name. He had a lot of tunes like that… 🙂
Apparently, he learned the tune himself while playing at a session in "Dougie’s Barn". I think it may have been at Dougie Mclean’s home but I can’t remember.

Oops, I forgot to mention that the tune is a reel and in the key of A

Dougie MacLean doesn’t have any barn that I’ve ever seen, but he certainly did used to play this piece of Gaelic mouth music.

Thanks, Kenny.

The "Titles" are not as familiar as I thought but my familiarity with the melody would be down to hearing the "mouth music" from various Gaelic singers over the years.

Nigel’s version seems to be the closest to what I play although it is in a different key.
