Accompanying waltz tunes on piano

Accompanying waltz tunes on piano

I need to record a piano backing for the waltz tune If Ever You Were Mine, but I’m a classical pianist not trained in piano vamping, and I’m wondering where I might get ideas for playing it in an appropriate style please? Are there any good examples I can listen to online?

Re: Accompanying waltz tunes on piano

Ive been enjoying the piano lately, after having been primarily a melody player. I think arpeggios would be lovely with that tune, open 5ths and thirds sprinkled in at the top of the chord. I’m excited to play this tune on the piano, it is beautiful. I hope you enjoy this dabble away from the dots!
