Irish Jigs / Reels / fun tunes to learn!

Irish Jigs / Reels / fun tunes to learn!

Hi there!

I’m looking for songs to learn on the Irish whistle.

I wouldn’t say I’m an advanced player yet, but I’m always up for a challenge!

What are some fun jigs/reels/Irish tunes you could recommend me to learn?

Thanks so much!

(Not sure if this matters, but I have a High D, High C, Bb, A, and Low G Burkes)

"These tunes might suit you (slip jigs)"

Oh, these are nice, thanks! I keep wanting to add more slip jigs to my tunes.

There’s a Youtube channel where they have a weekly or so "Virtual Guided Session". It’s a lady on the flute and her husband playing guitar or bouzouki. She usually starts out with some slower, easier and more fun tunes to play.

I can comment only from a fiddler’s point of view, but besides Tommy’s Tarbukus (mentioned above), some realky fun tunes are Jenny Dang the Weaver, Jack is Yet Alive, and Willafjord.
