John Whelan’s “Taking Time” 2020-2021 Session Track Recordings now available!

Thanks to the generous effort of my friend Ian Law here in San Diego, CA, the full set of John Whelan’s “Taking Time” 2020-2021 session recording archives (37 sessions), divided into individual tune set .mp3 files is now available for download.

Ian did the hard work of chopping up the original full session recordings into over 400 individual .mp3 files, naming the tracks based on the tunes played in the set, and even included an Excel spreadsheet listing every track.

This new version of the “Taking Time” session archive, and recording setlist spreadsheet in both PDF and XLS can be now be downloaded from:

Thanks Michael! I really like the tune selection and the relaxed pace, and from what I heard it’s just John Whelan playing and not the whole session, so I was actually able to pick up a tune after playing along a few times. Great stuff!

It’s essentially all just John playing solo. On a few here and there, but rarely, his wife Jan joins on fiddle.

I have a feeling I’ll being Taking (quite a lot of) Time with these!
