Le Coin du Balcon

Le Coin du Balcon

A friend played me the above tune by ace Quebec fiddler Andre Brunet, it sounded like an odd time signature somewhere between a jig and a waltz, looked for it here on the Session but failed to find it. I did find it on the Trad Tune archive but only notation and ABC, neither of which is good for me to learn from - I need audio. If anyone has a soundclip or a video of it that would be great [I already trawled through Youtube]
merci bien……………….

Re: Le Coin du Balcon

thanks John - that’s a tricky wee tune, I shall have fun learning that!!!

Re: Le Coin du Balcon

The tune in that Youtube video is not Le Coin du balcon. You can find the tune you want on bandcamp https://andrbrunet.bandcamp.com/track/le-coin-du-balcon Or you can buy the CD at André Brunet’s website. It’s a tricky tune because some bars are in 9/8. The story is that when he was renovating his porch, it was crooked and one corner took him a long time because of that. Hence the crooked tune.
