I am saddened to hear of the passing of John Caulfield, a stalwart of Irish fiddling in
San Francisco, and a musical colleague of mine (and many others) when I lived there
many years ago. Very sad, and deeply sincere condolences to his friends and family.
I only had the opportunity of playing once live with John many years ago up at a session in Fairfax, CA. Lovely man, lovely player.
Sorry to hear this. John was a great fiddler and I remember playing in some mighty sessions with him. Memorable ones especially with his fellow band mates, the Gasmen, upat the Bug Resort near Yosemite.

Real sad to hear this one. I didn’t know him well, but he seemed like a great guy, a great fiddler, and was really encouraging to me when I was living in Fairfax and just starting out playing ITM. Rest in peace friend.
