Instrument Insurance US

Instrument Insurance US

I don’t want to hijack the excellent thread at https://thesession.org/discussions/48014, but would love to hear any recommendations folks have on instrument insurance in the US. As with Bazza, I currently cover my instruments under my household insurance, but I suspect that’s far from optimal.

Thanks in advance for any experiences/advice you can share!

Re: Instrument Insurance US

I use Anderson Musical Instrument Insurance. They don’t freak out with harps. Have never had a claim, however.

Music Pro Insurance are fantastic. I’ve used them for years. Submitted several claims as I travel a lot and never had a bad experience. They will also cover computers and photography gear.

Re: Instrument Insurance US

I have mine covered under my home insurance but I have them listed on a separate rider. They don’t charge me extra for this and it allows me to put a specific replacement value on them. This is along with my wife’s jewelry, sporting equipment, and some tools.

I have used Clarion Musical Insurance out of Hauppauge, NY. They seem very reliable, but I have never made a claim with them.
