Chris Norman Workshop, Scotland

Chris Norman Workshop, Scotland

Hi Everyone,

Chris Norman is coming back to Scotland in May, and will be available for a workshop on Sunday, May 15, provided there’s enough interest. The workshop will be held in the Dunkeld area, probably in Dalguise Village Hall, 5 miles north of Dunkeld. Chris is a great teacher - wooden or silver flute players, from reasonably competent and on, will enjoy the day.

If you’re interested in attending, please email me at pandscarr @ btinternet . com (remove the spaces, put in to avoid spam),

Look forward to hearing from you,

Pamela

Re: Chris Norman Workshop, Scotland

I won’t make it to Dalguise on the Sunday, but am trying to arrange a session on the Saturday afternoon in Birnam . I was there 2 weeks ago and the bar manager of the “Tap” was saying they intend to start sessions on Saturday afternoons, beginning in May. Anyone interested, especially if you’re coming from a distance for Chris’s workshop, please post here, or contact me through the site.

Re: Chris Norman Workshop, Scotland

Hi Kenny, as you know, I’ll make it to the session in Birnam, but I forgot to mention to you that Niall said “Great” re date suggested for Plockton visit.

Re: Chris Norman Workshop, Scotland

Plockton visit? when / where …

Niall’s workshop at the Border Gaitherin was great a few weeks ago. Super teacher…

Re: Chris Norman Workshop, Scotland

Hi rudall, the Plockton visit is not a workshop or anything, it’s just a session myself and Kenny are going to visit. I suspect you’re thinking of a different Niall.

Re: Chris Norman Workshop, Scotland

Plockton, in the northwest of Scotland, was used as a shooting location for the cult British film classic of the 1970’s “The Wicker Man”, having a sea inlet, a smattering of palm trees, and warmed by the Gulf Stream.
Although The Wicker Man was filmed in Scotland, two scenes were filmed post-production in the Bristol area, several hundred miles to the south in England - a night-time orgy scene on the village green (using drama students from Bristol’s Old Vic drama school), and a cave chase scene which was filmed in the Wookey Hole caves on the Mendips to the south of Bristol.
The live musicians used in the film were Peter Brewis, Michael Cole, Ian Cutler, Bernard Murray, and Andrew Tomkins. Anyone know what they are doing now?
Trevor

Re: Chris Norman Workshop, Scotland

As if they never had night-time orgies in Plockton! Anyone know of any in the beginning of June?
See you Saturday, Ron. That’s 2 flutes & guitar guaranteed. Nick & Deborah are thinking about it. I’ll contact Niall and say “Aye” to June. While I’m here, there’s another EPO job on offer in Lochgilphead at the moment if you’re fed up of a life of leisure!

Re: Chris Norman Workshop, Scotland

Great Kenny, see you at the weekend. Thanks for the tip re the EPO post, but I’ll pass on that just now! I may be just about to start some part-time chromatography work for a friend, though never having done any before, I’ll be on a bit of a learning curve for the next few weeks.

Wasn’t there an orgy scene in the Hamish MacBeth series set in Plockton - or am I getting confused with another series?
