Blyn’s #2

Blyn’s #2

Does anyone know an alternate title for this tune? I heard at a local session, and i could have sworn that Lunasa plays it, but cant seem to find it on any of their cd’s.

Anton, got anything else we can work with? Reel / jig / hornpipe… key… sequence of notes… anything?

Its a reel, in D i think. Its in the tune book, Where’s the Crack. Not sure of the author.

Re: Blyn’s #2

The Blyn of the title is Vincent Blyn, it seems. Blyn’s number 2, google says, is associated with the name "Taylor’s". So it could be Master Crowley’s, which is also called Paddy Taylor’s and is in D (unless you’re a student of Brendan Mulkere!) and has been recorded by Lunasa.

Re: Blyn’s #2

(not actually in D - Blyn’s is in Bminor, Master Crowley’s in E dorian, but both of those share the same-looking key sig - 2 sharps, which is also D major)

course the Taylor mentioned could refer to something or someone else.
