a little help here please

a little help here please

My daughter is currently laking on several instruments and has progressed with the tin whistle far enough that she feels up to taking on the low whistle. The only problem being finding such instruments here in the frozen north lands. Could any one of you fine people please direct me to a Canadian source of low whistles? It would be greatly appreciated.

Re: a little help here please

I’d recommend the Whistle Shop. based in the U.S. but they have a very informative web site and a great selection of whistles. Easy to shop and order online. They’ve been great to deal with.

You don’t mention your daughter’s age, but bear in mind that the stretch between finger holes on a low whistle (say, a low D) can be uncomfortable for anyone with small hands.

Contact Tom Doorley from Danu at their site. I think Benny will pass it along:

he lives in Cape Breton and is the flute player/whistle player in the band. He may well lead you where you want to go.
