Leire’s Welcome to Cozac
Can anyone tell me what the timing (time sig) is of this piece. I am trying to write it down and I’m not getting it. I can play it but not well.

Do you have a recording of it by someone somewhere?
It’s something odd like 7/4, I think. The band “Session A9” have recorded it. One of Phil Cunningham’s.
It’s in 5/4, you’d count it 1 2 3 1 2. Or 10/8 I guess if you wanted to have really big numbers!
I count it as 123 123 1234 so 5/4 is a good guess.
I have the abc at home - I will post it when I get chance.
We call it Leire’s Welcome to Prozac.
Here is the gist of it off the top of my head - in Am and D. Anyone like to tidy it up, test it and post it?

Wow - thanks everyone for the info. I listen to it as Duncan Chisolm plays it on “door of Saints” The whole album is fantastic - I’ll try to add it later today (never done that before, so it may take me some time) He plays it in Gmaj/Emin I think - (I can play about 1 in 4 notes along with the CD)
Does anyone know how this tune got it´s name ?
Leire is a popular name for a girl in the Basque Country and Navarra.
Here it is - I didn’t post it as I couldn’t guess what type of tune to put it under.

Great ! Very nice tune !
1) Does anybody know the guitar chords in DADGAD for it ?
2) Is Ivan Drever (ex Wolfstone) playing with Duncan ?
Regards.
Jean-Louis (JLL)
Session A9 do a very good version of it on their new CD “What Road”
you can count it 123 123 12 12 and it works well with an accompaniment that follows the same counting.
Katie McNally does a great job with this on her album, Flourish, also a little harmony. Rhythm very easy to feel with her version.
