Enniskillen Arts Festival
There’s a really excellent programme this year, including lots of traditional music.
Highlights include the following and all take place from 8pm at Portora Royal School unless stated otherwise (and ticket prices are all around £8-12, apart from the free recital and the singers session noted below):
The Eliza Carthy Band on 26/9;
Andy Irvine and Hidden Fermanagh on 28/9;
Border Fiddles on 1/10;
Kintra (Ardhowen Theatre) on 3/10;
Séamus Quinn, Ben Lennon, Cathal McConnell and Gerry O’Donnell (The Clinton Centre, 3pm; free) on 4/10;
Tommy Peoples, Fintan McManus, Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh, Ciarán Curran and (host) Cathal McConnell on 4/10;
Eileen McKenzie, Rosie Stewart, Len Graham, Barry Gleeson, Jerry O’Reilly and John Fyffe (Blake’s of the Hollow, 3pm; £5) on 5/10.
There’s also a rare reunion gig for Tír na nÓg (Bush Bar) on 27/10.
Plus there are free instrument and singing workshops at Mt. Lourdes Grammar School on 4/10 and 5/10, featuring tutors such as Ben Lennon, Jim McGrath and Gerry O’Donnell.
