Moving Hearts to rock the Ulster Hall
Twenty years since they last played Belfast, Moving Hearts, one of the few truly legendary Irish bands, head back to lift the (new) roof off the Ulster Hall.
Formed in 1981, Moving Hearts were one of the first bands to successfully explore the fusion of traditional Irish roots music with rock ‘n’ roll. With a powerful contemporary rhythm section, they took a no holds barred approach to music rooted in the Celtic tradition. Blurring genres with a potent brew of folk, rock, jazz and traditional; Moving Hearts blazed a brief but dazzling trail across the Irish musical firmament for four short years before reforming for a handful of select gigs last year.
Now the recently reformed legendary line-up of Dónal Lunny, Davy Spillane, Eoghan O’Neill, Keith Donald, Matt Kellaghan, Noel Eccles, Anthony Drennan, Kevin Glackin and Graham Henderson return to thrill an opening night Festival audience.
Legendary band in a newly refurbished legendary venue!
