Skerries Trad Weekend teams up with Music Network for National Music Day
Skerries Trad Musicians link up with Music Network for inaugural National Music Day on Friday 16th April.
Music Network is designating Friday 16th April 2010 as National Music Day whereby there will be music events taking place all over Ireland.
Skerries Traditional Music Weekend will celebrate this inaugural National Music Day at Carroll’s Pier House Hotel with a super session planned for that evening free of charge. (Sessions take place here most Fridays).
The highlight of the evening will be the launch of Skerries Traditional Music Weekend C.D. This special C.D. includes live music from RTÉ Radio 1, Céilí House programmes recorded in Skerries, recordings from the Skerries Traditional Music Weekend recitals, and tracks, kindly donated by tutors both past and present.
All welcome to attend what should be an excellent night of entertainment.
Skerries Traditional Music Weekend is one of the main cultural events on the east coast of Ireland which takes place annually on the third weekend of May when many of Ireland’s exponents of traditional music, song and dance, teach and perform in local venues during the Festival. (Dates for this year are the 14th to 16th May)
