Quebec Fiddle Weekend
A weekend camp dedicated to the traditional music of Quebec. With guest artists David Boulanger (La Bottine Souriante) on fiddle and Simon Marion (Les Grands Hurleurs) on guitar/accompaniment.
The Quebec Fiddle Weekend takes place at the Blackwood Festival, 1 hour from Melbourne. We will have our own space for classes, jams, sleeping, breakfast, lunch and snacks, then join the festival events each evening. The camp will suit those who are comfortable on their instruments and are used to learning by ear. No previous knowledge of the style is necessary. Fiddles, accordions and accompaniment instruments are especially suited to the weekend. Under 18s are welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult.
Quebec Fiddle Weekend starts with dinner and the Blackwood Festival Tune Ball (where you come dressed as a tune name) on Friday evening, and ends with a Melbourne-Cup inspired champagne brunch and jam on Monday. Looking forward to meeting you there!
