Adam Sutherland School of Fiddle: Mixed Instrument and Voice Weekend
Join fiddler Adam Sutherland and local leader of the MOD Gold medal-winning Oban Gaelic Choir, Sileas Sinclair for a weekend of mixed instrument and voice tuition, exploring some Gaelic songs and tunes before arranging them into an epic soundscape. Expect a relaxed, fun atmosphere, full of laughs and pearls of wisdom in equal measure and opportunities to take part in the creative process. Whether you sing, play fiddle, accordion, cello, guitar, harp, double bass or any other instrument used in traditional music, you’re most welcome.
Aimed at intermediate level and above, this means that if you are a chord player, you must be comfortable with most basic chords and if you are a tune player you must be able to play at least a moderate speed. Included in your ticket price is a chance to hear Adam and Sileas in concert on Saturday night, with support from local musicians Bronwen Davies and Morven Macfadyen-Donald. This will also be available to the general public and tickets for family and friends can be pre-booked on booking for the workshops.
Participants are invited to have tunes and a dram in the Lancaster Hotel, across the road from the venue, on Friday evening and Saturday evening after the concert.
