Re: Joanie Madden, Mirella Murray and Gabriel Donohue
Many people contributed to the construction of the Irish Cultural Center of the Mohawk Valley building, but there’s one you may have forgotten.
During the planning of the first Great American Irish Festival, the well-known Irish band Cherish the Ladies was contacted about playing. Based in part on the stated festival purpose of funding the center, they graciously agreed to perform and, during their set, CTL founder Joanie Madden told the packed crowd to be sure to invite her back once the center was built.
Well, it took a while, but Madden will perform in the center she helped build.
Craobh Dugan-O’Looney and the Irish Cultural Center of the Mohawk Valley are pleased to present, Joanie Madden (flutes, whistles), Mirella Murray (accordion) and multi-instrumentalist and singer songwriter Gabriel Donohue in an evening of Irish music, on Thursday, Sept. 16, at 7 PM in the Irish Cultural Center’s Event Room, located at 623 Columbia St., Utica.
Tickets will be $15 in advance through Eventbrite (https://www.eventbrite.com/…/an-evening-of-traditional... ), and will also be available for $20 at the door on the day of the show.
