Flame-haired fiddle player called Dan who was born in York, England. I discovered Irish music first-hand in Manchester sessions aged eighteen and I studied it deeper in the Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Limerick areas under master musicians in my early twenties.
I immigrated to New England in 2015 after arriving at JFK with a suitcase, a fiddle and an American Dream.
I have played solo fiddle for Irish dancers inside New York City’s Carnegie Hall and I tour as part of a new Irish music trio called Daymark. I have toured the American Midwest and South and have done festival gigs with the gypsy-swing-folk outfit Caravan of Thieves.
I get flown across the US & Canada for Irish dance feiseanna and have been called up to play for an Oireachtas in Philadelphia, PA.
I regularly teach 1 on 1 fiddle out of my own musical space in South Windsor, CT which happens to be accommodated by a known Irish dance academy directed by my wife ~ a retired elite competitive stepdancer who was Munster Champion. We met while studying "ceol agus damhsa i Luimneach"
