Born and brought up in Ballycarry. I am a grandson of William Hume, a farmer poet who wrote a number of songs. The song he is most famous for is "The Muttonburn Stream". I have worked for many years as a storyteller with celebrated London Irish traditional singer Kathleen O’Sullivan. I play harmonica and jaw harp, but really only became serious about harmonica playing since 2013. While researching for a book entitled "Antrim Folk Tales" co-written with Kathleen O’Sullivan, when I found out William Hume had been a fine harmonica player.
