I am a long-time drummer. I started playing snare drum in high school for the marching band. I also played tympani in the concert band. I learned to play the drum kit and played in many bars and dance halls in San Antonio and Central Texas during the 1970’s. I took up the bodhran after seeing Rob play with the Tea Merchants at an Austin Sunday brunch. I practiced to DVD and printed lessons for several years before joining Irish Traditional Music sessions. I have enjoyed playing at sessions at B.D. Riley’s, Fiddler’s Green Music Shop, Wake The Dead Coffee Shop and at Pizza Italia.
