David Leadbetter

Over 21 (well over). Retired and based in Kincraig, near Aviemore Scotland. I started playing folk music at school. An ex girlfriend had a beautiful voice and we ended up playing the pub circuit around Edinburgh. At University I joined an established group playing guitar (6 & 12 string), banjo, mandolin whistles etc). This was in the late 60’s, early 70’s. The height of the folk revival. The group was quite successful and we ended up playing on the same bill as many of the greats, including my heroes The Corries. Work, family and building a business then took over and the instruments were consigned to the attic for 40 years. My daughter then bought me a banjo for Christmas and our local pub ( The Suie , Kincraig started an open session (Thursday). Passion re ignited. There I met a some very talented musicians and hope to get back on the circuit.
