I’m a 17 year old musician from the Green Mountains of Vermont. Since I was young, my dad has been taking me to an acoustic jam session up on Camel’s Hump, and before I ever really understood what it was, I found myself steeped in the beauty of Irish Traditional music. At some point I started bringing my tenor ukulele to the sessions, and I began learning the tunes by ear, going home, and practicing them. It’s honestly the reason I became good at the instrument at all, I think. The tenor uke is far from a traditional Irish instrument, but I feel that the way in which I’ve learned it has given it the soul of one.
I also take music theory classes at my school, and I love decoding and analyzing the nuances of ITM. It’s some cool stuff.
