A Londoner who, at the time of joining, had just celebrated her 60th birthday. The tin whistle is first on my retirement bucket list. My mother was a Dubliner and I remember, as a child, sitting outside a pub near St Stephen’s Green listening to jigs and reels coming from the humble tin whistle. It was magic. So I’ve bought myself the Clark’s in D and C and am listening to as much Irish music as I can. I read music, play the piano (poorly), play alto and tenor recorders and sing so I hope to be able to pick up the basics quite quickly. Mastering them will take the rest of my life, I suspect. Looking forward to the next 20 years.
