Martin Kearney is a univ. professor of Irish lit. and folklore living in SE Louisiana (very close to Cajun country and its own great trad. music). Been “into” trad. music of the British Isles and Ireland:>)since 1975 when I began learning the fiddle. Back in the early ‘80s I played in a trad band called The Rights of Man in the mts. of E. Tennessee. Nevertheless, I’m an amateur musician who also plays at playing the mountain dulcimer, pennywhistle, and Celtic harp. Of late, (6-’04) I’ve taken up refinishing fiddles as a way to enjoy the time between practicing sessions on my vaious instruments: thus my queries concerning fiddle repair.
