    This tune is a slow retreat from the 1861 Bruce & Emmett Fifer and Drummers guide, and after hearing the Chieftains Water from the Well CD, Track # 13, I Immediatly thought of this tune. I think they are basically the same tune, with small changes. more…

    In mexican Mariachi music, they use small guitars as well, which they call vihuelas, but I don't think they are directly related to the original vihuela. They are tuned a-d-g-b-e, with 5 strings. The instrument you saw might be a variation on this. more…
