Hi I’m Conán, originally from Belfast, lived in London for 15 or so years and now enjoying life in rural North Wales (Llanrwst).
It’s a nice wee spot; initially there doesn’t seem to be much music but dig a little deeper and the musicians come out of the woodwork. Sometimes we make it to Bangor on a Friday for the Waverley session and to Chester on alternate Wednesday’s for tunes at the Cross Keys.
I play piano-accordion, bodhran and a bit of harmonica. As well as Irish trad. music, I’m interested in Scottish, English, Breton, Spanish (Galician, Asturian) and Scandinavian traditional music.
I used to do quite a bit of set-dancing but I’m a bit rusty now.
Irregular trips to Miltown Malbay may remedy this somewhat; we’ll see.
Drop me a line for pointers on sessions in Belfast, London and North Wales.
