I picked up my fiddle around a year ago after it had been lying in its case for almost 50 (!) years. I’d played as a kid with not very much dedication, classical, school/youth orchestra, but I always wanted to loved Irish music and hoped that some day I would get to do that. During the lockdown I met a friend who introduced me to the Session and I had joined the SEAC slow session on 19 December. It was great fun, although as very much a beginner I really struggled with keeping up some of the time!
I grew up in England but am now living in Luxembourg, Europe, and play online with my new online friend from Australia.
Hoping that post-COVID I’ll find a way of playing “live” with people nearby who would be prepared to play with a very slow beginner!
