My name is Steve Cook and I live in a little town called Nambour on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, Australia. I play tenor banjo, mandolin, bouzouki, guitar and fiddle. I work in a band called Tulca mor playing trad Irish songs and tunes. We mainly work the bigger folk festivals around Australia as well as regular gigs at the Queensland Irish Association in Brisbane. The band consists of Fred Graham on fiddle, Kevin Higgins on pipes, flute and whistle, Andrew Heath on guitars plus meself. We have three CDs. Check out our website tulcamor.com.
I also play with the band the Barleyshakes, based in Noosa, also on the Sunnie Coast.
I’m also involved with running the Maleny Celtic Winter School, held every year in June in the beautiful town of Maleny about an hour north of Brisbane.
