Hello, I live in Gawcott near Buckingham, play the fiddle and carve wood. I used to play in a Barn Dance Band called Fleeceyard, but we retired a few years ago. I go to the sessions in and around Milton Keynes, and meet up with the First Friday Fiddlers in a different pub every month, somewhere in Bucks, Beds and Herts. Aspiring to the technical expertise required for the Irish repertoire I now prefer to explore English folk tunes as I feel these express my own roots and nature. Sometimes I make up tunes then find at a session that someone is playing something very similar so maybe my new tune is something I have misheard and reinvented.
As for carving wood, I make my living as an artist with wood as my main medium. Art making and music making are both equally important to me.
