I am 21 years old and have my teaching certification in classical violin with the Royal Conservatory of Music, receiving the highest mark in Canada on my teaching performance exams. Alongside my 13 years of classical studies, I studied and performed Celtic fiddle music from some of the world’s finest fiddlers, being most inspired by Martin Hayes. I have recorded four CDs - the first two received nominations by the Canadian Folk Music Awards (2008 & 2010) and the third CD received a 2013 Canadian Folk Music Award for “Young Performer of the Year”. I just released “Strong Bow” of which I am extremely proud. A fabulous collection of traditional and contemporary tunes, featuring 15 of my originals. I have also written B.C.‘s first book of all original fiddle tunes - 66 - which earned me a scholarship to the University of Limerick’s Traditional Summer Music program in 2012. “Kierah’s Collection” is carried at music stores across Canada as well as online.
Today, my career is actively performing as a Celtic Fiddler for private, corporate and public events. I also teach a “Celtic Traditions Across Canada” program in schools in Western Canada. Please see my website -
