For the record, this is not the tune on the Waking Maggie CD - but it’s a great tune! As far as I know, a Saltarello is a type of dance that was popular in the 16th c. or so, with many variations. more…

Megan wrote this one night when she was feeling particularly stupid, and it’s got a lovely dark frustrated feel to it. Composed on flute, tho I think it sounds best on fiddle. We like to follow this tune with Dunmore Lasses, it’s a nice transition. more…
