I’m a Bay area fiddler who got obsessed with this music a few years ago and hope to be for another 30 years….

A bit more:

I was a Suzuki kid but stopped playing when I hit college. Picked the violin up again and decided it looked more like a fiddle this time. Started going to an Irish Slow Play session and now I’m completely obsessed with the music!

I feel very fortunate to live in an area with so many great, great players and fine sessions to attend almost every day of the week. And very fortunate to have found my current teacher, Kevin Burke who is as fine a teacher and person as his playing is.

Besides the fiddle, I play some DADGAD guitar (don’t ask me to play House of the Rising Sun - I’ve already forgotten how to play in standard), I’m learning a bit of Irish flute and am owner of an array of sadly neglected instruments (bodhran, mandolin, 5-string banjo).
