Reg Leftley
tunebook 2 tunes.
Started going to a session 2 years ago, after friend persuaded me to take up the bodhran. Bought a cheap one to see if I liked it, got hooked, built a 22" tunable (without the fiddle of an allen key) and now part of the furniture. Practice a few hours a week, intend to learn another instrument but still finding too much to learn on the bodhran and new techniques to learn. Feel that it is dismissed as an instrument too easily, and played well can really bind a session together. At 62 I’ve got no ambition to be a flash player, and feel that the modern style of playing can distract from a tune rather than stengthen it.
